Come to Live Band Friday Night Mostly Waltz Dances!   These feature excellent beginner dance lessons followed by a Dance with mostly waltzes from fast to medium-slow, plus a few polkas, one steps and schottisches!  Excellent live bands!  Come to the weekly Monday night classes and to the special Saturday workshops!

Cross-Step Waltz Beginner Workshop 2pm to 5:20pm

Learn Polka as done from the 1840s Polkamania craze onwards.

Learn Cross-Step Waltz, a new and rapidly spreading waltz style done to slower tempos than Viennese Waltz, and the favourite waltz style of many people across the United States today. One of the two main waltz styles done at Mostly Waltz events in Toronto and elsewhere, including at Friday Night Waltz in San Francisco.

There is no need to bring your own dance partners. Teachers: Simon & Bonnie

Monday September 13

Viennese Waltz four week course starts, Mondays 8pm to 9pm

Viennese Waltz beginner course taught by Simon & Bonnie 8pm to 9pm. Mondays, September 13, 20 and 27, and October 4.

Learn traditional Viennese Waltz as done in Vienna and elsewhere from the mid 19th century onwards!

  Trinity St. Pauls Centre, Gym, 427 Bloor Street West, Toronto. (Two blocks west of Spadina, across Bloor Street from the west exit of the Spadina subway stop. Big sprung wood dance floor) $40 for four classes, full-time students $30
Saturday September 18

Workshops 10am to 4pm

One Step Beginner Workshop 10am to 12 noon

Viennese Waltz Beginner Workshop 1pm to 4pm (traditional Viennese Waltz as done in Vienna and elsewhere)

Learn the One Step, fun and easy to learn, and the favourite  dance of the huge Ragtime dance craze of the early 20th century which remained popular through the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

Learn Viennese Waltz, the most popular partner dance of the 19th century, and one of the best, most fun, and most romantic dances of all time.

  Dovercourt House Viennese Waltz Workshop $30, One Step Workshop $20. Full-time students $25/$15

Cross-Step Waltz Intermediate Workshop 10am to 12 noon (Prerequirement: you can do the turning basic of Cross-Step Waltz)

Left-turning Viennese Waltz Workshop 1pm to 4pm (Suggested prerequirement: you can do right turning Viennese Waltz, or you have a dance background)

  Dovercourt House Left-turning Viennese Waltz Workshop $30, Cross-Step Waltz Intermediate Workshop $20. Full-time students $25/$15
Monday October 18

Cross-Step Waltz four week course starts, Mondays 8pm to 9pm

Dressing up and wearing Christmas colours encouraged. Bringing snacks to share encouraged.

Friday Live Band Mostly Waltz Dances are once each month.  Lessons before the Dance 7pm to 9pm. Dance 9pm to 11:45pm.

Monday Night classes are at Trinity St. Paul's, 427 Bloor Street West at 8pm, and will resume Monday September 13!

Special Workshops on some Saturdays in September, October and November at Dovercourt House!  Details tba.

We teach traditional Viennese Waltz, Rotary Waltz, Cross-step Waltz, Charleston, Peabody, One Step, Polka, Blues Dance, Cakewalk, Schottische and other partner dances. We also give private lessons for wedding dances. Special deal for returning students: If you repeat a course or workshop with us which you have already done, it is only $10 for the entire course or workshop. Taking it again is a good refresher and good practice.

Viennese Waltz - the core of Viennese Waltz is rotating with your partner while traveling around the room. This can have a hypnotic or dreamlike quality. Viennese Waltz has been popular for over 150 years and has roots going back to the Middle Ages.
